Meena Chillal got married at an early age.
She had no knowledge of cooking.
And this is her story...
After getting married into a well-known food manufacturing family, Meena felt helpless and lost as her knowledge of cooking was limited to boiling eggs and making tea.
After facing ridicule, she promised herself that she would master the art of cooking.
Meena was a quick learner and self-taught her way into fulfilling her promise to herself.
In 1993, her family faced tough competition and went bankrupt. They had to close down their food manufacturing unit.
Meena wanted to do something about the situation they found themselves in.
With her newfound knowledge in cooking, Meena started her research. It took her almost a year until she came up with a unique blend of Curry Pastes.
These were all natural and promised convenience in the Indian kitchens without a compromise.
She was the first person to come up with such curry pastes in India.
She launched her brand of 'Parampara' curry pastes from a 500 sq.ft. garage.
The product was an instant hit.
Since it's launch in 1996, the brand grew from it’s presence in 1 city to being available in 30 cities in India, from 1 country to 15 countries across the world and from being manufactured in a 500 sq.ft garage to a 50,000 sq.ft state-of-the-art facility by 2012.
She sold her brand 'Parampara' to a US multinational in 2012.

Not one to sit still, once the non-compete clause was over, in 2023, Meena launched a new version of her famous curry pastes.
This time she called them -
MEENA KI FAUJ
This was to recognize the efforts of her whole manufacturing team - 80% of whom are women.
Truly...our company is empowered by these feisty women who work tirelessly to get you the products that they are proud of.
